Everything you paste is converted entirely in your browser. Your text is never transmitted to us or anyone else, never stored, and never logged. There are no cookies and no user accounts.

The markdown conversion is implemented in JavaScript and runs locally on your device. The content you paste never leaves your browser. We have no technical means to see, store, or process it.

Hosting

This site is served by Firebase Hosting, a service of Google Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When you load the page, Google processes technical connection data (IP address, user agent, timestamp) in server logs as necessary to deliver the site and ensure its security. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a functional, secure website). Google retains these logs for a limited period as described in Google's Firebase privacy documentation, after which they are deleted. Google may process data in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Usage statistics (cookie-free)

We use GoatCounter (goatcounter.com) to count page views and anonymous usage events (for example "a conversion happened") in aggregate, via a simple image request — no analytics script runs in your browser. GoatCounter sets no cookies, stores no persistent identifiers, and does not track you across sites. Counted data is limited to the page path, the referring site (e.g. which search engine you came from), browser type, and country — never your pasted content and never anything that identifies you personally. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding aggregate usage of a free tool).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) — for us, the competent authority is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (LfDI BW). Note that since we do not collect or store personal data about you, there is typically nothing for us to look up, correct, or delete.
